What is a Platinum Card hair color service?
A Platinum Card service is an all-over lightening service designed to lighten the hair as much as possible while maintaining the integrity of the hair.
The service includes toner customized to the blonde tone you want, whether you’re looking for a brighter, cooler, warmer, or more personalized blonde result.
Where do I park for Polished Hair Designs?
Free parking is available on the north side of the building at 123 Yale SE, Suite A3. The entrance is around the corner facing Yale.
There also is paid parking available across the street on the southwest corner of Gold and Yale.
Do I need a consultation before booking a hair appointment?
A consultation is not always necessary. During your appointment, I ask questions about your hair goals, previous haircuts or color services, current condition, and any concerns you have about your haircut or grow-out.
If you are unsure what service to book, want a quote, are considering a major transformation, or simply want to discuss your options before scheduling, a consultation is recommended.
What if I don’t like my hair color, highlights, balayage or ombré?
If your color needs a tonal adjustment, a toner or gloss can often be used to refine the result and create the tone you’re looking for.
Toners and glosses gradually fade with shampooing. Depending on your hair and how frequently you wash it, results can last approximately 12–24 weeks.
If another toner touch-up is needed, the current touch-up options are $60 for approximately one hour with a blowout or $20 for approximately 20 minutes without styling.
How do I know what haircut or hair color will look best on me?
I combine professional experience with technology to help you visualize different possibilities. I can use Magic Mirror with your image to show you several style and color options.
We’ll then discuss the options together so I can provide my professional recommendation based on your hair, features, lifestyle, maintenance preferences, and desired result.
What is the difference between highlights and balayage?
Traditional highlights are typically created using sections or weaves of hair placed into foils to create controlled, dimensional highlights.
Balayage is a customized highlighting technique in which the lightener is hand-painted onto selected sections of the hair to create a softer, more natural-looking transition.
The best technique depends on the look you’re trying to achieve, your existing color, and how much maintenance you want.
Why is there an additional product charge for a Brazilian blowout?
Brazilian Blowout pricing is based on the amount of product required, rather than simply charging according to hair length.
The recommended amount of product is approximately 15 grams for the standard service. Some hair types require additional product, particularly coarse, very curly, or medium-to-long hair.
If an additional 15 grams is needed, an additional product charge applies. Very long or particularly product-intensive hair may require two additional product charges, which can add approximately $100.
I prefer charging based on the actual amount of product used rather than automatically charging more simply because someone has longer hair.
Do you specialize in Black haircuts, fades, and textured hair?
Yes. Precision cutting is one of my specialties, including detailed haircuts, fades, clipper cuts, razor cuts, and styles for Black and textured hair.
My goal is to create clean, precise shape and detailing while working with your individual hair texture and desired style.
Do you offer haircuts for men and kids?
Yes. Polished Hair Designs offers haircuts and grooming services for women, men, and kids.

Do you offer curly haircuts?
Yes. Curly haircuts are available and are customized around your natural curl pattern, texture, shape, and desired style.
